What can be said about "Dragonslayer"? Since it's debut, it has closed every show it's been in. I (KM) read a lot of Bruce Coville books when I was a little kid, and there was one called "The Dragonslayers". I was tinkering around on another song that I was having trouble finishing and needed a break. The first two chords I hit are the first two chords in the main riff. Just as I hit them, Erik walked in from outside and I let loose with a, "Hey there Dragonslayer!" For the first time in all of my songsmithing, this song wrote itself.

Fun fact: I sang "Dragonslayer" for my first and last time when it was debuted. It was at the end of a two hour set in some dank bar. Erik's voice was gone, but we were too excited about it, so we played it for Oh Mee (Steve's wife), the singer from the band before us and her boyfriend, and the bartender. The singer from the band before us's boyfriend loved it.

The beast was fierce and vile
A killer creature I must concede
So grab your sword, your shield, your ax
And ride hard upon your steed

He blazed into the forest
Setting the ground on fire
He made his way past lesser beasts

But still he was left wanting
The beast was no where to be found
The only sign it left behind

The fight won't end until one of them dies

He charged the beast with valor
Slashing at it's haunch
But the fire grew inside the beast
With each strike that he'd launch
And then the beast did wail
The earth trembled with the sound
As fire lit the sky
Our hero lay bleeding on the ground

Will he rise up and find the strength to defend
Or will this be our slayer's mortal end

Now the fires rise
Now the beast does die
Go go Dragonslayer
